Ash Wednesday services during COVID-19
Parochial Vicar Father Henry Agudelo sprinkles ashes on the head of a parishioner during an Ash Wednesday service at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2021 in New London.
Sprinkling ashes on the head rather than on the forehead was one of the changes during the service along with social distancing with every other row of pews blocked off with yellow tape, spaces marked with tape on the center and side aisle floors and parishioners wearing masks.
