Please shelve 'Arc'
The word “retarded” has been inappropriate for quite some time in referencing people with intellectual and physical disabilities. It is time to rethink the "Arc" logo for it is a disservice to clients and families.
Editor's note: As used by organizations such as The Arc Eastern Connecticut, "Arc" is no longer an acronym, but simply a name. The Arc organizations do not use the word "retarded."
