Beach Boys, Neil Young tribute bands play The Kate
If you didn’t know we were heading into summer, here’s a definite sign: a Beach Boys tribute band is rolling out the hits at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center on Saturday. Sail On is the name of the group, and you can bet there’ll be “Surfin’ USA,” “Catch a Wave,” “Good Vibrations,” and other sun-and-sand numbers.
The Kate has been busy with the return of live performances and has months of more shows ahead.
For this weekend, though, in addition to Sail On, The Kate is hosting a Neil Young tribute band on Friday. Joe Mass sings the Neil parts, and the group takes on both rollicking Crazy Horse tunes and acoustic country-rock songs.
