Waterford police investigate overnight burglary at jewelry store
Waterford — Town police are investigating an overnight burglary at Mallove’s Jewelers, 262 Boston Post Road.
Police said they responded to a burglary alarm at the store about 1:20 a.m. Saturday. Investigators found the front door forced open, several display cases smashed open and jewelry missing. The value of the items stolen is not known.
Police said they are investigating a possible connection to other commercial burglaries reported in neighboring towns. Details of those reported crimes were not immediately available.
Police are reviewing surveillance footage obtained from Mallove’s but had not yet released a description of the suspects. Police ask that anyone with information or who was in the area of the store about 1:20 a.m. to contact police at (860) 442-9451 or the anonymous tip line at (860) 447-8080.
