Garden project provides pandemic respite for Groton woman
Have you had a special project during the COVID-19 pandemic?
Like millions of other Americans, Laurie Taylor was out of work for a while due to the pandemic. Around Earth Day last year, she looked around near her Groton apartment and noticed garbage had blown away from a nearby dumpster. She decided to use some of her time to clean up the area and then got the idea to start a garden, where she placed plants and various colorful ornaments, including landscaping lights. She says the garden is really pretty lit up at night.
The effort inspired a neighbor, who Taylor then helped to create a garden, too.
Taylor now has a job again and on Wednesday said she was spending time with daughter Meagan Butler's dog, Teddie, before going to work later in the afternoon.
