Make a Difference: Madonna Place
AGENCY: Madonna Place
WHO: Adopt-a-Family Children
THE SITUATION: Normally, Madonna Place has an Adopt-a-Family program for Christmas; last year, the program provided holiday gifts for over 120 children. It's usually so fun for our donors to pick out and wrap presents for those children in need. COVID-19 has changed our program this year but has not and will not dampen the spirit of giving. This year, Madonna Place hopes to give families a gift card for each of their children so parents can shop for their own gifts. Hopefully, this will prevent spreading of germs between donors, staff and families.
WHAT TO GIVE: Staff hopes to give each parent $50 per child in a gift card to Walmart for presents and a grocery gift card to ShopRite for the parents to help with Christmas dinner. Cash, checks and gift cards in any denomination can be donated.
TO DONATE: Donations can be dropped off or mailed to Madonna Place, ATTN: Nancy Gentes Adopt-a-Family, 240 Main St., Norwich, CT 06360. For more information, call Wendy Yagarich at (860) 334-5942.
