Bumgardner is City of Groton's 'people's choice candidate'
Aundré Bumgardner gives Groton City Democrats a people's choice candidate and the opportunity to move past the herd mentality of the endorsing committee. For the last 10 years they, along with Mayor Hedrick, have been responsible for our city’s mismanagement.
His and their so-called accomplishments include: free cable and internet for city insiders, $38 million lost on failed cable company, trips to the Kentucky Derby and golf resorts, executive sessions hiding $11 million in losses, GU and TVC retreats for insiders, FBI investigation and indictment of a city official, ethical violations, life-time taxpayer funded pensions, financial misstatements on yearly filings, millions wasted on CMEEC attorneys defending white-collar crime, lack of economic development and prolonged blight on Thames Street, new sewer fees, doubling water costs for city residents and ignoring short-term rental concerns of Eastern Point property owners.
That, my friends, is more than a decade of poor judement resulting in financial devastation for you and me, demonstrating a disingenuous government that lacks empathy for city residents and taxpayers. Please vote Aundré Bumgardner for mayor on March 8.
