Difficult past haunts attempted murder defendant
Regarding, “Two arraigned on attempted murder charges in New London, ordered held on $1 million bonds,” (Sept. 4), 20-year-old Sakye Reels-Felder was a high school basketball and cross-country star at St. Thomas More School. His father was stabbed to death in his car in 2008. Sakye would have been 12 at that time. I do not know the details of what happened, or the history of this family, other than what I glean from searches, and I find nothing online about 21-year-old Nitasia Sutton, but please people, try to get the full picture of what went wrong in the lives of these two young people that led this incident to happen in November. Let's really try for once as an entire community to stop the cycle of violence and provide real support and healing to ALL our young people instead of punishment.
