Santa Claus missed Emily’s house last year, and she is on the hunt to find out why.

The feisty girl, along with a mouse and an elf, try to figure out the mystery in “Twas The Night Before Christmas,” which Groton Regional Theatre is staging this weekend and next at the Groton Senior Center.

The play is by Ken Ludwig, whose other popular works include “Lend Me a Tenor” and “Moon Over Buffalo.” “Twas The Night Before Christmas” is suitable for all children and adults.

The actors — all of whom play multiple roles — include Mike Crane, Kaleigh Allen, Christine Gunther, Allison Thorp and Bob Gwin.

A note for parents: the performances include a Friday evening show and Saturday and Sunday matinees, and special seating close to the stage will be available to kids.
